Happy New Year 2012!

New! New! New! Every year brings new stuff! It's fun and exciting but it can be frustrating at the same time. I get a little anxious just thinking about all the changes that will happen in the next year. Along with this ministry's new name we will be trying out some things in hopes of improving our communication. Being a volunteer run ministry, we run on a volunteer budget - ha! ha! That pretty much means $0 comes in and so $0 goes out...makes our bookkeeping pretty simple! However it does come with it's drawbacks. Like having $0 to spend on services or equipment that might make things a little easier. So I am on a quest for finding free services that meet our needs. So please bear with me as I take a
few of these for a test drive this year. If you scroll below you will see the first experiment in the form of a click on link for signing up for the Rock and Worship Roadshow in Ypsilanti on 2/3. This is just one of  a few you may see this year. I also have purchased a website that I would like to incorporate this blog into. Unfortunately I have no idea how to build a site so I will be fumbling through this as well unless God sends me a geeky angel to take over the task (Please, please, please). So hang in there with me on this and feed back is always appreciated. I hope that this won't prove to be too annoying and that we will all be blessed by the changes.
Be Blessed in 2012 and thank you so much for your help in 2011!

Happy Birthday Jesus!

With all the hustle and bustle that the holidays bring I pray you are finding time to sit at the feet of Jesus. It's so easy to get caught up in the shopping, wrapping, cooking and such that it is sooooo easy to forget the reason of the season. I am praying blessings upon blessings for you and your family this year. I look forward to each and every time we get to serve the Lord together at an event. I thank Jesus everyday for the generous hearts and able bodies that he provides me each time I need them. So I toot my party horn and give a big shout about the biggest and grandest Christian event of the year - HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESUS!

Here's a real quick recipe that super volunteer, Jenny Fleischer shared with me last year and has been a favorite for all the times you need a dish to bring to a gathering. She and I have both modified it to make it even easier and just as delicious!

Toffee Brownies

1 brownie mix (prepare as directed on box)

hint: I use a disposable pan when taking to parties for ease

1 jar caramel topping

1 tub of whip cream topping

1/2-1 cup of toffee bar bits

Prepare brownies as directed on package. While still warm poke holes ( I use a straw)

Allow to cool completely

Pour caramel topping over top and fill holes, use as much or as little as you like.

Top with whip cream and sprinkle with toffee bits

Total deliciousness!

Store in fridge.

FaLaLaLa...Christmas Shows

Yes, the Christmas shows are coming to Michigan.
Just wanted to put you on alert. I don't have the specific information on each show's needs yet but here are the shows that some of our promoters are bringing to Michigan this season:

12/11 - 2011 Christmas Pageant with Family Force 5, Hawk Nelson & Manafest at Radiant Church in Richland
12/14 in Plymouth at Northridge Church &
12/15 at Grand Rapids First -
The Story Tour, A Christmas Spectacular with Steven Curtis Chapman, Newsboys, Francesca Battistelli, Natalie Grant, Selah, Anthem Lights and special guest speakers Max Lucado & Randy Frazee.
As with most shows that are hosted within a church the volunteer needs at the actual event may be slim or none but the promoters would very much appreciate it if you would help get the word out submits posts on your social media sites, especially facebook about them. Please take a moment to "like" Michigan Christian Events on facebook and then you can easily re-post the information onto your page. It's that easy and sooooo appreciated.
